I'm glad I put skylights under the eves. I don't need to use lights if my solar light is on. Works great even on a cloudy day.

Those shelves look very stout!
You could put a 350 Chevy short block next to a 466 short block next to each other!

In very old buildings "colonial houses" those were called eyebrow windows. Least my dad called them that. Basically they were light for a sleeping loft not a full second story. 5hat is a very practical idea for a pole barn and they are protected .

After watching all the comments about your concrete, I am surprised the earth hasn't opened up and swallowed you whole. Personally, I think your concrete will out last you and me both. I wish I had that building, but then I would spend too much money trying to fill it up. Your clear panels at the top of the wall are much better than in the roof.

Around here, this is an eyebrow window. For obvious reasons.

I'm used to ignoring armchair
engineering.

No insulation. Outside Temperature
haven't been this warm.
At night closer freezing.
This is close to ground temperature when
we poured. Concrete has been close to
air temperature.
Today is a cloudy day too.

I'm pleased with how it's turning out.

Let's play a new game. How many death machines in the picture ! lol.
Several saws, ladders, propane tanks, electric cords. Oh my George you will be lucky to make it out of there alive ! lol.

The propane heaters don't work. Been sitting around to long. One needs a new regulator, other needs a thermocouple.

What's really scary is I'm using crapy
Menards lumber I bought 11,% off.

So definitely I'm working under extremely dangerous conditions. I'm worried about the floor collapsing causing me to fall off the ladder.

I thinking I shouldn't have gotten out of bed.

I was concerned about condensation on the ceiling. There wasn't anything this morning. Go figure.

Cmore,
They can't hold much. I used crapy Menards materials. Some recycled lumber too. Putting it together with deck screw so if I change my mind, I can easily change it.

Are you going to use insulation bats? I would tack them in and cover with visqueen before you get much more hanging there in the way. If you insulate the wall and sheath it it would make a great mother in law house. :)

Geo, I hate to say this out loud lol but i have a heater just like that one you have actually I have had 2 but trashed the first one because it stopped working. When the second one quit i took it apart and bypassed the safety switch and it works like a charm. Hate i trashed the first one now being thats all it was.

After giving some thought I'm glad they don't work. Burn any carbon fuel you get CO2 and H2O. I don't want water inside.

My brother put up a pole barn and used double bubble insulation and concrete floor. that thing looked like a rain storm went through it when the temperature changed. After the first time it never happened again. I blamed it on the new concrete and closed doors.

When building ours, found double bubble's R value was reflective not convection. Used 4" batt but now think spray foam is better due to mice. imho

I put 8 mil plastic under concrete.
I added eve vents and ridge vent....
You can see light at gable end.
Planning to wait for spring to foam roof. I'll use cardboard to keep all vents open.
I'll keep busy wiring barn so come spring I'll run power from my house to barn.
Going to wait as long as possible for floor to cure.
