Ford one arm loader.

There is one of these loaders at an upcoming auction. It is missing it's mounts. How hard would it be to make them?Isn't a 'quik-tach' type of loader? would it work on an 8N or Jubilee? Steve

I have one I was going to put on a Dexta but I sold the tractor. I don't know if it will fit on an older model. My neighbor has one on a newer Ford he's used for years. Mine has mounts but no bucket or fork. It is available if anyone wants it. Freight would be a killer.

Ford one armed bandits take a bit of learning so you don't waste your dough.
There were changes made to them over the years. Bunch of ifs, ands or buts to that too.
Basically the loaders were the same but the side box changed from 5 1/2" which fit tractors from 48-64.
And a 3 1/2" box that was used from 65-75.
First photo shows measuring a 5 1/2" box.
After 1975 not mountable because of hydraulic pump.
8N mounting kits are very uncommon. Different kit for NAAs - equally rare.
Kits for the 55-64 tractors are all the same and fairly common. Except for the front bracket on the row crops are different and uncommon.
The 'hip' bracket most important. Would be hard to duplicate. Bottom and front brackets could easily be torch cut.
65-75 3 cylinder brackets a little hard to find and some differences between early and late and 2/3000 and 4000 but 'findable'.
A decent bandit with no brackets is worth maybe $150. Double that with all the brackets.
Add another C note if it is the all hydraulic model and not the trip bucket.
Dunno about the Dextas except they made brackets for those too.
I got into them for a while. Had a few but none now.
Still think one of them belongs in the Smithsonian institution as they are pretty cool. The original quick tatch.
And if I had learned about stock trading instead of this stuff I would be wealthier.
So there you go. :)

A neighbor (in a past life) had one on a 4000. his son hit a concrete feed bunker, while rotary hoeing, at an angle. the mount ripped out a football sized chunk of the transmission housing where it is 3/4 of an inch thick. I welded the chunk of housing back in with Ni rod (took the better part of a day to prep and weld). Then he bolted the loader back on!! It held for as long as I was in touch with him. Jim

Ha! I'm purchasing a one arm bandit that was on a 4000 at one point -- any one have pictures or drawings for mounting to my 8N?
Thanks!

I have a Wagner Loader that was on my 52 8N would make someone a good loader

Fusion 1 -- you force me to confess -- turns out I have a TO 20 Fergeson with a Wagner (Jungle Jim) loader -- the Fergy motor
is locked up -- I thought about transferring it to my 8N but I'm three days older than dirt -- I could not continuously crawl over
the back to get into the tractor. I have a 125 year old home (we have a lot in common) and water in my basement -- the plows, blades and scoops
on my 8N along with a salvaged trencher is getting me dried up -- I can't commandeer a wheel barrow any longer, and, the limited
capabilities of the one arm loader surpasses any effort these old bones have left -- your generosity does not fall unnoticed - thank you Sir.
