Perennial grain

Scanned that article. It says "produces between 200 and 500 seeds per acre, which translates to about 30 bushels per acre."

Must be some DANG big seeds! Elsewhere it says the seeds are similar in size to grass seeds. I think they must've meant 200-500 seeds per head or possibly per square foot.

My nephew, sometimes smart, sometimes funny, has done a limited research and claims that corn could be developed to produce like Johnson grass, propagated by rhyzomes (spelling ?), but there is no incentive for development as the seed and chemical companies make substantial funding to the educational institutions.

Great another Asian beetle type problem we don't need. If it is a perennial like said. Probably will not be able to kill it with tillage or chemically. Will be growing wild everywhere along ditch banks and such. Just another weed problem to have to contend with. Like Marestail is and that Palmer Amaranth ls.

Know Carmen well. Lives right outside of town a couple miles. He has pretty close ties to the U of Mn with his farming practices. Can't say I understand all his organic farming. He is a good guy though.

Perennial grain, Perennial grain, Perennial grain.. .
Hmmm.
Dandelion.
Another fine idea that was brought onto this continent by a misguided individual.

I heard that Kernza was being developed to be the official grain to make bread for the Kwanzaa celebration.

First study should be what will kill it.

No one ever considers that when developing the weird stuff.
Like King Ranch Bluestem.

Correct me if I?m wrong isn?t alfalfa a perennial? And most grass? I?d be in deep trouble if I had to replant my entire summer range every year
