If they were using brand new Ford engines, Ford was out of the 4 cylinder business in the U.S. after 1934 until the 9N came out in 1939. Besides that tractor and driver could leave the road commission garage with a full tank of gasoline, a lunch box and a canvas water bag, and range a hundred miles doing ditch maintenance , all while keeping up with local traffic!
