The governor on the 550 was rusted really bad and I was told to soak it in Evaporust to clean it up. I bought some and soaked it for a couple of hours. Cleaned it up pretty good.

Leave it in the full 24 hours. All of that rust will be gone.

I'll try that, I thought the directions said to soak it for an hour, I left it in for about 2 hours. Chris

Yep leave it in overnight temperature above 65 deg preferred. Love that stuff works great.

You can leave it in as long as it takes. Once the rust is gone, it won t hurt the metal if you leave it in too long.

I've been using it for a while, great stuff. Its rust removal ability diminishes with use so I usually clean as much of the loose rust as I can by wire wheel. That's after a good degreasing, overnight soak in full strength Purple Power.

I did some old chains in just plain white viniger. Worked great!!
