Looking for tractor mechanic

I have three John Deere tractors (a 1020, a 2130, and a 2355), all of which need various minor repairs. Getting all three to my local Deere dealer would be a problem and would likely set me back more than they are worth. I would much prefer finding someone who would come by and work on them at their convenience. Does this forum (or any others) offer a service matching mechanics to owners? That seems like an idea someone must have thought of. After all, if you can find a spouse on the Internet, you ought to be able to find a mechanic.
Thanks,
Charlie
PS. I'm having a problem posting a message, so my apologies if duplicates show up.

I am in Auburn, Alabama (ZIP 36832). I was just posting a general question to see if anyone knew of such a matching service, but I would welcome a response from someone in my area.

We are not a matching service, and I know of none. But someone in that area might just speak up to assist your search, and know who might help. Good
luck , those tractors are not junk, they are fixable if they have been even moderately cared for. Jim In MN, not close.

I guess there was not always a Match.com until some bright kid figured he could make money with a dating site. Same might be true for other matching needs, but I'm too old to start one up.
I's true that my three tractors are all good machines. I got the old 1020 when I first bought 30 acres for my daughter to keep her pony. Cleared several fields with just it and a box blade. Then I bought the 2130 with a FEL when I realized that the 1020 wasn't really designed for loader work. Then I finally learned that heavy loader work (like clearing brush and pulling privet) really needed 4-wheel drive. Hence my three Green tractors. (I also have a green Gizmow ZTR mower, but the shade of green is not near as pretty :)

I tried sending a PM, but that didn't work. You can send me an email at [email protected]. I don't normally check that email address, so please post a note to let me know to check it for an email from you.
Thanks.

(quoted from post at 08:05:31 01/10/20) Tim S should be about 5 hours north of you, I would recommend him.

It would shock me if Tim would accept 3 JD Dubuque/Mannheim built utility tractors to repair that I'll make a wild guess have hyd problems.

Craig's List and Facebook marketplace might be your best bets to find local independent tractor mechanics. Also look in local farm magazines and newspapers. If a dealer is overbooked, or does not want to work on a particular machine, sometimes they will recommend a good shop.

Worst case, if you don't need all three tractors anymore, consider selling one to pay for the repairs on the other two tractors.

well there guys out there that do what you need i am like 100 miles north nashville and at one time i jump on them when i was just starting but due to age and health right now i not even able to take car my reg customers now maybe yt need to start a form where guys that do this type work could post. i know that when one first starts a new business it can be had to get the word out

Search on Craig's list for EQUIPMENT repair. That is how most of them advertise. In my area there are four of them that advertise regularly. Understand that They may wish to transport them to their shop. While you will have to pay for the transportation, the time on the clock will be lower because they have more resources at their shop.

Craigslist. Last fall I answered an ad in the help wanted section, guy needed someone to get his 8n running. I got him going and he paid me generously, but a fraction of what a dealer would have charged. I enjoyed working on it, and it got me to working on my own a bit when I was done with his. a win win. Good luck.
