5020 hydraulic pump

Looking at a 5020 hydraulic pump needs work.What would be the plan of attack here and possible $$ amount?

What's wrong with the hyd pump? Low pressure output or leaking? If low output what type diagnostics have been performed?

Its out of the tractor the
seller said..I would have to say
its junk-expect the worst.

If there's lots of issues/$$$ parts needed, a NEW aftermarket pump is available from this very site for $959.00, parts and labor to partially rebuild one could easily cost more than that and lots pf potentially worn parts would still be reused.

I have not personally used one, but from what I have seen and read on the 'net, folks are having good luck with the aftermarket pumps.

Do I have to drop the front axle?

not cheap. I had 7020 pump overhauled at the j. d. dealer about 25 years ago and it was over 1400.00 then. to reseal and put a kit in. lots of small pieces.

I removed the pump and took it to them then installed it myself.

Many of those pumps are replaced even though there was nothing wrong with them .
The front pump won't move oil unless supplied .
