HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I've been saving a treat (well, I hope it's a treat) to bring you this day. By far, the most popular tractor company in U.S. history has been John Deere (although the Farmall folks might try to argue that one *lol*). So, just how did Deere get started?

Seems there were some experimental machines that were considered. Rather than trying to paste all of the information here, check out these 3 links:

Now for a few pics. There's not a lot of examples of these around, and it would appear that some only exist these days in archived photographs. Still, hope you enjoy!

....What, you still here?? Well, good thing! Here's a video taken in 2012 about the Joe Dain tractor:

Total I-H production of tractors built will never be broken so wouldnt that make them the most popular in history.

There are 2 1/2 Dain Tractors known to exist today. One in the museum at Waterloo Iowa owned by Deere and Co., the one in Ill. and parts of one owned by a collector in Nebraska.
