Know what I want for next tractor

I have 3 more years of kids in college, after that I am going to trade the 6610 in.

I have been looking, and want to get a JD 5083 with cab.

Any opinions on that model?

Guess I will keep farming, to some degree.

David my youngest daughter graduated college in 2004. The same year I retired.
No regrets.

The 5083E & 5093E are both popular hay field tractors in my area. Never heard anything bad about them & some have a lot of hrs. My SIL has the 5083E (bought new) and loves it. He has a small hay business. One of my old friends runs 40+ thousand rounds a yr., with two bailing crews and those are the tractors he uses.

They are good tractors made in the USA in Augusta Georgia. The 5075 and down are made in India ,if you can at all your best bet is the 5083 or bigger.

My neighbor, local BTO, uses the 5101EN for narrow vineyard tractors in the grapes, the may own ten of them. I see a brand new one will now set you back over $100K. Not in my plans, even after the third kid graduates next year...

"They are good tractors made in the USA in Augusta Georgia."

Are you sure about that Phillip?
Things may have changed, but I toured the JD factories a few years
ago and at that time they told us nothing smaller than the 6 Series
row crops were made in the US. Assembled here, yes, but assembled
from foreign parts. Not actually made here.

I can't comment on the quality/reliability of the tractor as I don't own one.

"Tractor data says Augusta."

Yes, but they don't specify whether they are made or assembled there.
And I honestly don't know.
I'm only relating what JD told us when we toured their factories.

"Made" these days doesn't mean what I'd call made, bolting major preassembled chunks together from all over the World in the USA doesn't make it made here in my opinion.

My good friend has a sub assembly plant in Augusta that does work for JD, I will ask him and follow up.
