WD 45 stuck in 1ST gear shift won't move

With the ignition off, rock the tractor back and forth on the ground while trying to bump it out of gear. Do not force it. If no joy, or it can't be moved, you may end
up taking the top off of the trans to get it going. The gear shifter could be out of the slots, or rails stuck from rust. Is it an operating tractor, or being put back
in operation after years of sitting. Jim

It is possible that the end of the shift lever is worn enough to get out of position and cause problems like this. It is also possible water came down the shift lever
from a cracked or missing shift lever boot and is frozen as has been said. If you end up having to thaw and drain it there are 3 drain plugs under different places in the
transmission and rear end not including the hydraulic drain, the front most drain plug not including the engine.

Fill in the blanks. What were you doing with it or did you find it that way etc. Words here help us help you and lack of words makes it hard for us to help you help your self

They do not charge by the word here. A hundred word post is a lot better than a 10 word post and possibly a 200 word still better in your position. Temperature where you are, location as that can have an efect on the problem, new problem to you or did it work before or new to you tractor. Even if engine runs or not as all can help figure out the problem. What have you tried? So please more discriptuve posts.

I just had this happen to my ford. I assume the end of the shifter is the same- maybe. On mine the end of the shifter the ball was worn off allowing it to come out of the slots in the shift forks. Remove the shifter and see if you can move the shift forks back and forth with your hands. I bought a new shifter assembly for mine, but some folks weld up the end and form a new "ball" on the end. It was a very simple fix.
