Mom's sale after my Dad died-1988--Had over 700 registered bidders. I bought the 8820 Deere combine-$28,500-wondered how I was going to pay for it.

My Dad had a little Deere washer and you could pee harder than it so my buddy brought his Hotsey over--Me cleaning--had a lot of help-they even washed my grain cart!---Tee

Love that first picture from Life Magazine.

Note the fundamental difference?

These days there are very few automobiles. Nearly everyone drives a PU, and many have trailers attached.

Speaking of Life magazines, I have an old life magazine from the 60's. An article inside has an aerial view of a large camp ground with at least 50 bumper pull trailers, and almost all vehicles were full sized sedans or station wagons, there were only a couple pickups. Of course the trailers were mostly smaller and lightweight compared to today.
