I am about to go look at one. Asking price is $1000.

I found little information on this model. 40HP.

Any knowledge about this tractor?

I worked on a Mitsubishi tractor not al that tong ago and in all good faith I cannot ever recommend some one buying one. Parts can be hard to find an there very poorly engineered in my opinion

Thanks for the reply. I went and looked st it today and was trying to get a serial number. I found this tag.

This is a real clean tractor with a bucket. I really like the tractor, but it does this, and it has changed hands twice because no either owner could figure it out.

It starts and idles nice. When the owners idled the engine up to raise the FELoader, the tractors engine would throttle up out of control. The second owner turned off the engine and it would continue to run fast and burn black smoke, and die off after about ten seconds.

He thought it had blown a gasket. But it would still start and would idle??

International sold Mitsubishi tractors in the 80s painted up and sheet metal to resemble an 88 series ihc tractor

I bet link_disallowed in Coushatta Louisiana will have an injection pump for that rig, they can tell you by the serial numberyou can look them up on the internet. Mid mount loaders of that size are popular and easy to sell, looks like pretty good tires, a lot of good on that rig if cheap enough, the sheet metal will fit a few IH utilitys from the early 80's.

The owner just told me he took it to a shop. They had the injector pump rebuilt. Didn?t fix the problem

Just need to find a Real mechanic familiar with those tractors. The places I'd start to look are at the fuel return line to make sure it isn't pulling fuel back thru it to the pump or cylinders somehow,2nd I'd be looking at the air intake to make sure no fuel or oil is being sucked in there. No magic if shutting the fuel supply off doesn't stop the tractor only so may places it can get fuel to run.

I am using a fergusion 1950 and it is wearing me out. I was hoping this 40 hp would make life bettering

I ran Satoh/Mitsubishi tractors in the late 70's early 80's. Don't ever recall that model though, and from the paint scheme I would tend to think that one is what was called "grey market" unit (if you are in the U.S.), one that was imported into the country outside of the usual manner. Like Old says parts are harder to come by these days so I would probably look elsewhere. In the time I ran them they were a very good unit, better than the Kubota of that time frame by far. Paul

There are many older made in the U.S.A tractors that will cost you a whole less in the long run and will not wear you out. Shoot when I do my hay each year I have at the very least 4 tractor in service. Most of which are older then I am. My rake tractor is a 1949 Case VAC. My mower tractor is one I built form 3 junk tractors and they where all in the 1040s. And my main baler tractor is a 1955 Oliver S88 all of which are older then me. Only tractors I have on the place that are newer then me is my Ford 841S and my IH584 and a D-17. But i do have around 30 tractors

Do you shut it off by moving the throttle to shut the fuel off if so there is still something wrong in the injection pump or the throttle linkage to the pump

(quoted from post at 06:13:08 12/11/19)

When fuel flow to the pump is restricted a diesel will rev up and then die.

I am going to checkout linkage, fuel flow, and then look at the governer. Where is the governer more than likely located on this tractor? :?:

The fuel pump was rebuilt so maybe this won t be a deal breaker.

Also will I need to remove the FEL and if so does this fall under the category of a "quick disconnect" loader?

The governor is built into the pump.

I am a fairly good gasoline engine mechanic, but have not worked or understand diesel engines, so you opened up my eyes.

I will check the return lines and the air intake.

Dumb question: the front end loader, is it common and can I get parts for it. Can I replace or find parts for the hydrolic cylinders?
