Farmall 656 diesel up date

Got the issue narrow down to one issue. When you go to crank tractor up and it is parked idling you can rev it up and everything seems to work correctly, however when going to high gears like 4 or 5 and you let the clutch out slowly it acts like the tractor bogs down and stalls and when you try to rev it up it take forever for the engine to advance on speed. What else do i need to check clutch is in good shape, linkage has some slop in it but very minor nothing major.

If the filters are OK, try loosening the two screw timing cover on the pump side. If engine pulls/throttles up fine WITH the fuel cover leak, but falls off again with the cover tight, pump needs repaired soon and the return line elbow fitting needs removed and cleaned too. The retainer ring is failing inside the pump, plugging the return elbow which WILL cause slow engine acceleration and/or shut down on the injection pump. I just repaired a JD 3020 pump for the same trouble.

Haven?t tried that tractor runs fine when parked and idling, you can rev it up slowly and throttle response is good, when you go to romp on it it take it a while to respond.
