6 volt wire??

So I have heard there is special 6 volt wire that was used on spark plugs back in the day. My two older tractors have modern wire on them. Does this make a deference?
Thanks for the help.

No, same wire for 6v or 12v.

Best to use solid wire or spiral core resistor wire.

Avoid the carbon core resistor wire.

I'm not aware of any plug wire differences when using 6 or 12 volt. Many typical older stock tractor ignitions, especially if magneto equipped, used wire core NOT later automotive style carbon core plug wires.

6 volt or 12 volt does not matter but what does matter is the type of plug wire. Ones made for cars and trucks do not hold up well to tractor and can cause problems with mag type ignition system. You need true wire plug wires

Your source may be slightly confused. As others have commented, avoid the carbon wire. Larger wire size is needed on the battery connections of a 6 volt system, especially the negative side, you will find it makes a huge difference in starting.
