Anti-seize

Have a jar of anti-seize that has been left open for years and is
starting to dry out. Anybody have a suggestion what to mix with it to
bring it back to a smooth state.

I would try a little motor oil or diesel fuel if you really want it thin.

Add a little oil and stir, might have add little more until you get what you want

I just paid, I think it was, 4.95 for a Permatex container of it on line at Walmart. Just saying

Acetone seems to thin just about everything.

I use motor oil, but not too much or you have a runny mess.

I used mineral oil. It was not a good time to go into town.

Showcrop is correct. Put about 1/4 of a cup and let it stew or a day or two.
Gently stir with a screw driver. You want a creamy consistency. Mineral oil I
think you can pick up a small jar in some drug stores. Also check a paint store
, the old fashioned kind. You only need a little.

I mixed a bit of kerosene with mine, let it sit a couple of days and stirred it up. Seems to work.

I had a bottle that looked like the oil had separated a bit from the paste and it looked and smelled just like gear oil. I don't really think it matters, probably just add something to make it slick and more fluid.

Probably some WD 40, or penetrating oil. Every time I use anti seize, it ends up on the front of my shorts. Stan
