Nice looking IH 240 in Northern KY.

Not too common around here, and this one looks nice.

Hard to believe the hours on the tach but, who knows.

No, it's not mine and I have absolutely nothing to do with it, just found it interesting.

IH 240

40 hp Continental gas engine? Might be a scam or a really dumb seller because that?s not what they had.

Apparently they aren't a very good selling tractor,I've had one for sale not quite as nice as that one but very good with brand new tires on the back priced at
$1000 and no takers.Mine has the Fast Hitch but also have the 3pt adapter arms.

I got mine a few years ago for a grand. It has factory 3 point but not running at the time I got it but did have new tires (didn't take much). The biggest kicker for me was the cost of the gears for the PTO which someone had poorly welded to the PTO shaft. Something I hadn't anticipated when buying. I really like this series of tractors style wise, but they aren't as popular as the letter series and not late enough to have a 3 point most of the time.

We have a 240 which we bought new in 1960. It?s been a
good tractor for us but what hurts their value is the lack of a
live PTO.

The tack was probably replaced when they repainted it. That was pretty common years ago.
