Ford vs Ferrari

My son and I went to see the movie Ford vs Ferrari the movie about Carrol Shelby mostly when he teamed up with Ford to beat Ferrari at their own game. Being an old gearhead and Ford guy I enjoyed it.
 
Going to see it Saturday with my daughter. She knows her Dad is an old gearhead. She's been driving Mustangs since she got her license. And by the way her name is Shelby!
 
There was a young lady at our church named Shelby.

Named after Carroll Shelby, by her dad, a serious builder, driver. He had a huge shop full of tools, equipment. He died of cancer at an early age, wish I had got to meet him.

His widow let all the equipment get away, probably carted off by relatives. The shop and property were sold to pay medical expenses, poor money management.

Sad.
 
Find a copy of "The Quiet Man" in the English Classic Cars Magazine Issue 445, and article on Eric Broadly of Lola. In which the GT 40 gets a mention.

We saw it at a recently refurbished theater with comfy seating and amazing sound that made you feel like you were behind the wheel.
