Farmer protest

Huge protest in Berlin. Estimated 5000 tractors driven to the Brandenburg Gate to protest new environmental regulations limiting fertilizer and banning glyphosphste by 2023. Article is on www.windstream.net. Sorry, don't know how to post a link.

Kinda reminds me of the big farmer's "strike" in the U.S. a few decades ago where the farmers drove their tractors around in the big city to protest.
That really didn't work either.

We need to be very thankful for lack of new tree-huuger regulations.

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched. The tree huggers here would love to get laws like that passed and are working very hard to make it happen.

There are times they take LOADED spreaders with them ..........and they come
home empty. Did that in France on a city hall or something.

(quoted from post at 17:47:43 11/26/19) One election away.

Yep all one has to do is look at the "green new deal" being endorsed by a lot of the folks trying for the nomination.

Anyone besides me remember the EPA wanting to pass rules barring farmers from raising any dust in a field a few years back? Like from tillage work or harvesting? It's not a joke.

Rick

It'a about the money. A place near hear makes concrete retaining walls for highway projects. Every year they have to pay the EPA
for dust permit or something along those lines. Ridiculous money grubbing.

There are dust regulations because the cement dust is so noxious, and corrosive, and there are methods to reduce how much dust we have to breathe and how much gets into the air to get on our cars, etc. The dust is pretty bad stuff. There are run-off regulations so the excess concrete dumped out at the plant can't just run into the creek, it has to be contained for a while so it sets up. Now who pays to administer those regulations? The ordinary tax-payer? You? Me? Nope. The ladies in the check-out at the grocery store? Nope. It's the concrete company. Like it should be.

Rick,
I don't think tree huggers have any original
thoughts.
The blame should point back to the World Health Org.

In 2018, the WHO cancer agency firmly defended its
decision that glyphosate is a probable human
carcinogen, despite reports from lawmakers in the
US.

The WHO is influencing tree huggers in many
countries.

And who pays the concrete company for their products? The tax payer who pours a floor for his shed? The little lady at the grocery store whose husband builds a new garage? Me? Yep, and anyone else who buys or uses concrete. Like it should be.
