Is This An Old Tractor Weight?

I am not familiar with any machinery that uses a large weight like this. Guesstimated weight of 150lbs, no place to hook a chain nor by hand. Anyone recognize it?

Thanks,

It could have been a weight for any one of a hundred different makes or models of old equipment. A possible use would have been one of the many older forklifts that were built on an Ag or industrial tractor chassis.

It could have been part of a stack of weights from an old cable type of elevator too.
ooks like it is made to install only once, not to be easily managed. The holes are too small to hang it from on a moving vehicle. I think it would lay flat in a basket. Next month I'll clean it up and figure out what kind of metal it is. Planned on making it an anvil if it is steel.

How big are the holes?
Or holes on both sides?
Do they go all the way thru?
To lift, put a long rod all the way thru one set of holes.
Loop a chain around the rod, both sides, and lift with loader, winch or
what have you.

was pointing out it that it is not like a suitcase tractor weigh that can be handled by hand.

Chris, have you ever seen the counterweights that they remove from cranes for transport? They put them on and take them off every time they change locations, and sometimes these jobs are just an hour or two. They are way way bigger than yours.

es and they don't grab them by hand. This is not large enough to fool with on something needing multiple large weighs nor is it small enough for a man to move around by hand. Think about it, see in person or any pictures that match this?

pdate: A visitor recognized the weight from his oil field days. He said it looks like the counter weights on old pump jack.
