I took this photo today of a photo on the wall of the Dr's exam room. I thought some of you folks might enjoy viewing this old Dodge.

(quoted from post at 17:55:01 11/19/19) nice! Were a lot of those Dodges two tone like that?

Looks like a custom paint job to me. Owner may have a JD tractor at home and had some left over spray paint ;-)

I like it. Neat old truck with character to spare.

Looks like it's ready to roll for a small YT hayride...
must have seat belts in the box since it has ROPS. LOL!

Neighbor had one like that. His was kinda a sea-weed green. Then he had a 2 ton with box and hoist. Same vintage. That was blue with a red box. and then he had a beautiful Desoto car. Two-tone greenish and blue. The Desoto was the one with big fins. I'm thinking 58 or 59. He liked his mopars.

Very cool ...... someone painted it a lighter green, almost a JD green, the factory green was somewhat darker, and someone painted over the chrome "Job Rated" centerpiece in the middle of the grille. Factory wheel color was usually cream/ivory. I had a '51 which was very similar but the rear fenders were less styled, more of a basic fender shape from those times. The black pickup box was original on the basic factory paint jobs, I believe you paid extra to have the whole truck the same color as the front cab. I had a Dodge pickup truck restoration book back in the day and I remember reading that. Also, on all the pickup trucks you see restored with a beautifully varnished oak bed, that was never the case from the factory. The wood might have been oak (or some other hardwood) but the wood was painted black along with the metal bed strips. That series of Dodge trucks was referred to as the "Pilot House" cabs, for some reason they never were favored by collectors like the Chevys and Fords from that era, I always liked the Dodges myself.

Fluid drive, my aunts father had one like that when I was younger. He would pickup his grandson and I to help him on his farm. The passenger by the door had to man the 2by4 when parking. That truck had a body like a tank. I think it was black and red.

Interesting! My Dad was a Dodge man. We had a '45 1-1/2 Ton. I remember when I was around 15 seeing ads in the farm magazines using the terms "job-rated" and "Pilot House" cabs.

I had a 53 that i put a 283 with a powerglide into, out of a 59 chev. rear end from a 66 dodge polara. everything worked great. drove it many miles. it's still around!

"...never favored". "Why". Two words....butt ugly!

Thanks Square Eye, it's a beautiful machine. Had a 53 3/4 ton till my dopey BIL wrecked it for me. It was hard to start, hard to steer, hard to stop, hard ride and no power nothing but would love to have it back. Just to wrecked and rusty to fix. Thanks again
