Two that come to mind is the very old international harvester mc McCormick Deereing or Minneapolis Molene . My guesses.

Blast....you got it right before my brain clicked in a few minutes later. Was stuck in tractor gear and not truck.

There was a thread about this just a few weeks ago. It used to be common for bolt manufacturers to put their brand on the heads.

Some good clues. I googled image for all of the above with..... vintage/old/logo and bolt head. AC mack is close,but not correct. I thought maybe Maytag or a hit and miss engine of some sort....but nothing. Could be anything farm/household related such as burr mill,livestock equipment,windmill,cream separator or odd ball machinery. Circle M,circle W.....I seem to think I have seen it .....somewhere in the past :-(

I can see "ETD" in that symbol, stare at it long enough, it'll pop right off the screen at you. AND, we all know what ETD means right? I believe it is an anchor bolt for the directional drive assembly, one leg on the symbol for each of the three compass directions.

Actually a Y, an M, and an I put together.

Figured that Y was pretty prominent and stood out to me, you all are focused on the M and didn?t go down the alphabet far enough. :)

Could also be I Y I

If you google I Y I it can stand for;

Intellectual Yet Idiot

If that is the case then I want to order a box of these to hand out to some of the choice individuals I have crossed paths with over the years.

Nothing to do with whatever it was used in. Nobody makes their own bolts. They are purchased from the bolt manufacturer, and a lot of them used to imprint the head.

Chevrolet has been making the Bolt EV since 2017 :eek:

I sometimes carry a spare bolt , nut or washer in my pocket when inspecting vehicles or machines at shows.
An oily orphan fastener laying under the machine often panics the owner.

Given the small size of the "bolt" (O.P. said it was 3/16") rules out it being used on many of the suggested machines because it's so small (unless to hold trim or a nameplate on).

It looks to me to be plated, and that would limit its age by quite a bit, when did plated bolts become common, late '50's, maybe?
