That was a close one

Almost lostthe hydro stat drive transmission in my l4310 kubota.they have a sight gauge on the rear of the tractor just left of the PTO shaft. I was brush hogging some heavy brush alot of small trees up to a inch or so diameter one of them must of somehow penetrated the sight glass.it lost pretty much all the oil in the system.i didn't notice it until the next day when I was unhooking the brush hog.put in a new sight gauge refilled with oil I've ran it a couple hrs since refilling it all seems to be good so far got my fingers crooked. RICK

Pretty sure you will be fine, if it ran out of oil it would stop moving, oil is what drives it unlike a gear transmission where the oil is just for lube, only thing that might happen would be oil get hot under heavy load but not like an issue for your case

Rick that sight glass is on the top of fill, the other poster is right , but won,t stop moving, there is a safety built in you will feel hard steering when the oil level gets low first , before anything is damaged. I usually uses 3m cement putting the glass back in seems to hold better than the KUBOTA grey they use. You should be good to go.
