Miller welder ID

What model is this Miller Welder? I assume the spool unit it a Millermatic 70A? How old are both of these units? What might its value be? What type of three phase convertor might be needed to run it?

looks like a miller pulstar 450 constant potential pulsed dc welder with a series 70 24v feeder,, just a guess

All i know, is the miller salesman admitted the new ones arn't as good as those older one's!

Both pieces should have tags giving all the info you need to ID is them. From there you can go to Miller's web site and download manuals for them.

The tags on the machines, and the manuals, should have the specs for the power requirements.

As far as running one off a phase converter, I've heard that they can be run off a properly sized rotary converter, but I haven't tried it.

If that's what you'd have to do, I'd suggest talking to Miller's tech support and get a definitive yes, or no, before trying it.
