Case Nutty 1660 /// Lowboy trailer

Greetings! Saw your response to "Got it home safe and sound" with your pic of a low boy trailer and that oversized toy parked on top of the trailer. That brings to light a current problem I might be having. I recently picked up a low boy trailer somewhat similar to the one shown your pic. My trailer is stickered for a 19900 GVWR It seems someone in the past changed out possibly the air brake axles with tires and rims.
Got it set up with the tandem single wheel electric mobile home axles at 7200 Lbs each, at best.
For that much of a load, what tire size are you running? 16 or 17.5?
My trailer is a 16' flat deck with a 4' beaver tail and ramps that drop after that. I figure I am looking at either 10 or 12K axles, with 17.5 tires rated at 6K each to get this trailer back to snuff and possibly over-engineered.
Thanks for your time, one and all!

I run only Hankook 14 ply trailer tires they are 16" Solid not welded rims and run 105 psi not cheap but the very best I can find in this size,,
cnt

Post a pic of what You have and tell us what you want to haul. None of your numbers make sense right now, but maybe if I saw it I could figure it out. For instance, trailer house axles are rated at 5200 lbs each so a tandem would be rated at 10,000 pounds.

Thank you for the reply.
I believe the trailer was running 8.25/15 on split rims at 5,000K Lb per wheel, X 4 would give the 20K lb trailer rating.
My desire is to go to the 12K axle with the 215/75R16 18 ply tire at 123 PSI Nitrogen with a 6,000 Lb per wheel rating. That would give me a 20K Lb trailer payload.
Overkill and the wife is already yelling that I currently have what I need with a 10K capacity trailer.
I desire more.
A for the mobile home axles, they are Dexters and a 3 inch tube rated currently either 6,000 or 7,200. I believe the electrics were rated at the heavier end of things. Still not quite what I desire, but will work for now.

I wish my trailer was done so I could drag a D4d cat home next Saturday. There goes another few bucks to get it delivered instead.
