had a family wedding yesterday at a beautiful old mill that I guy recreated. He has a collection of old iron. Made a few photos. McCormick -Deering 15-30 maybe, F-?, maybe an early water lou or Ih , Mine dump truck, and more. The dump truck made on a tractor was really neat, don,t know how the operator could see where he was going but probably modern in it,s time. The little cat crawler has a neat deal behind it. I have seen photos of the track log hauler out west but never around here. Enjoy

My thoughts exactly. If you are going to store them that way then you should at least let a tree or two grow up thru the frames. Helps keep them from collapsing when the hardware rusts out.

Actually this guy has had them in a large long shed for years but with the building of the "Venue" and other things they got moved outside. We had a bad storm and 3 inches of rain just prior to me taking the photos. I looked a little farther , appears the bent frame one might be an IH Mogule. Really did not spend any time as the weather was still unsettled. It did appear that the mine dump truck had some kind of power to make it dump. Have to wonder what kind of effort it took to steer the thing.

I think you'll find that dump rig was a concrete buggy. If you look at pictures of air bases and dams being built you will find pictures of them scurrying around. It should be encrusted with concrete though.

Thanks Keith, you are more than likely right. I knew I had seen old photos of such but never one in real life. Wish some one would identify the bent frame tractor.

Glad you guys convinced me it is a Mogel, I thought the frame looked like it had to be but the position of that tank thru me off. No need to sell anything here, second generation money with deep pockets. Sure is a nice place.

They were used early on in open face iron ore mines and stone quarries around here until bigger trucks replaced them. and the small iron ore mines closed down.-----------------Loren

The cat is a D-2 or 4 Can't tell with that view. I will go with a D-4 though. If that log trailer was loaded full it would be a load for the ole cat though. They were only about 40 horse.
