Dry compressed air

I usually see desiccant driers with dew points to -50 at my industrial customers. It does not seem like there is a large difference in price between refrigerated and desiccant, but the refrigerated only gets dew point down to about 32. Why are these desirable.

Many dessicant dryers use lots of the compressed air during their regen cycle making the true operation cost quite high. For uses not requiring ultra dry air, the refrigerant type can save on operation cost.

Yup...with your air supply the colder and dryer the better. You can mount a
heat exchanger in an old home freezer or refrigerator. Have a tiny air leak on
the output side to let the water excape. Poormans air dehumidifier . Those red
plastic balls you screw on your paint gun are supposed to take the rest out. A
true clean air system is a LOT of bucks. The ultimate is "breathable "air. Go
on Utube and start watching some of the videos. Massive air requirements they
use centrifuges or centrifical air seperators.
