Looked at the rain gage when I got home today.

Guess that will be the end of the oats. May end up waiting for freeze up to combine corn. Dumped the 5 gal bucket that was nearly full from rain over the last three weeks or so, this would have over filled it.

Yea water sitting in fields all over down here too. October rains don?t go away fast here in the cold clay, nothing growing to use the water, not much sun or heat to evaporate it any more.

We weren?t that bad before this rain, fields would go, but my beans wouldn?t dry, 17.5%, had to sit on my hands.

Now what. Hope for a nice November.

Had a 45mph gust go through, see what that blew over in the morning.....

We talked about this at Junkshow meeting last night. (The rain, not your bucket) none of us remember farmers chopping corn this late in October before. We still have campers we can?t get to sitting in water at the showgrounds from 7 weeks ago.

In my Friday travels in counties from Blue Earth to Grant I think 95% of the combines, choppers, beat lifters, and truck drivers were running. Followed by every available manure pump, digger, and plow. Not the case Monday.

Yesterday morning it was raining so hard I drove 25 mph, wipers on high and those cars with bright lights blinded me. I was lucky to see 25 ft of the white line on right side of road.

Buy a pair of these amber sunglasses. They are also polarized. Buy them at walmart. Great for fishing too. I have theses and "good" glasses and use the cheeper ones. They work great in the rain, clear your vision.

What are you doing in San Juan?

Same here, to the east of you... everybody was going great guns on Friday, and very late into the night.

Now... we'er flat out water-logged!!!

In 1985 by Oct 25 we had not chopped any silage...too wet to get two, two wheel drive tractors hooked together in the field to pull the chopper. That"s when I got the 2470 Case 4WD. Duals on the left side, hitch offset to the max. We hauled short loads with the 4430, couldn"t switch in the field so switched on the road. There were those in Stearns county, around Spring Hill, Lake Henry, Elrosa, who didn"t get any silage cut that fall.

We are east of Rice used a 1070 with duals taking one row with a two row chopper the fall of 85 what a mess i think this fall is worse do you still live in Stearns county
