Washed the old SC up yesterday. Ready to do hay rides at our church's annual chili cook off / fall festival that we host at our farm each fall. Usually have about 15 to 20 pots of
chili to vote on plus all the goodies in the machine shed, games for the kids, a fire pit to sit around and visit, and hay rides through the fields. Usually wraps up with watching
the sunset. Beautiful fall day - let the good times roll.

Had a wonderful night. Ran the route four times, the last with the headlights on. Saw several deer down on the river bottom. Everyone seemed to enjoy the ride through the stalk fields down toward the river. The old SC ran perfectly although I am amazed at how we used to farm with so little horsepower. A hayrack loaded with people made the old girl snort in third gear on the soft ground and coming back up the hill. The weather was perfect except that it was a little too cloudy to give us a beautiful sunset. Now I'm sitting in my recliner. It's a lot of work to have fun ;-)

Yep. I can fish from the very southwest corner of my farm when the river is in it's banks. When it floods, I can have a 60 acre lake. The South Skunk is kind of an bugger of a river. Rises pretty fast - goes down pretty slow. And my bottom ground stays wet long after the water is gone.
