My Redneck quick hitch

I thought I would start a new post about quick hitches.
Mine really isn't that quick, but easy to use.

I use backhoe to swing grader blade in place. Then drop it in place. I made a dog bone to attach top link. Even painted it red. Redneck engineer 101, you have to use scrap materials even red paint.

I do the same when I want to attach disk.

Please post pictures of your redneck engineer inventions.

My friend bought a quick hitch from RK. We had to modify his old equipment, problems with top link so I made my own.

Another modification is adding a 3 inch slag pipe to grader blade. It made leveling gravel for pole barn easy.

Well.....something I picked up at a flea market. In the shipping containers they have really heavy duty cargo straps. At the ports they have small hills of them and toss them. Two years ago a guy got hold of a bunch of them and was selling them for like $5.oo each. I bought several. Wish I bought more. Here is a photo of me pulling a couple of old fence posts last week. Just fip it onto the frame, through the top hole, and then to the top again. Pulls the post right out like a big splinter in your finger.

I am at a loss to figure out how you can hook a trailer onto that ball.
I built a front mounted 3pt hitch onto my Myers snow plow frame that I adapted to my Case 440.Not really a quick hitch, but will accept my york rake and a utility box and a Cat-I A fram cross drawabar with receiver tube. It is pretty handy and easily removed to install the 7' Myers snow plow.

I would think those tabs sticking out on the frame would bind up on the tractor hitch arms when lowered if he turned it around and had the top link attached.

Loren,
You can't tell from pic, ball in one side, tongue is on other side. I was using the tongue to pull lawn roller. If I want to use ball I just install quick hitch backwards.
All part of redneck engineer. Multi purpose quick hitch with tongue and ball. Almost sounds kinky. Tongue and ball. LOL

Boy George you just won?t stop building these death machines will ya ?!?!!

Looks good to me If it works for what you want who cares . Some guys can?t build they have to buy it

Here is how I hook up to the snow plow,I stole the idea from the big parking lot pushers.

Just drive up to it, lift and hook the chains.

This shows the pickle forks and chains. I no longer have the 2 n with Wagner loader so I modified it a little to use with the wider bucket on the 1710 buy adding the short 2 x 2 square tubing and relocating the chains. The spring on the chains holds tension so it doesn't fall out of the hooks and makes it easier to hook up and unhook. Works for me.

flembo,
From one redneck to another, GREAT JOB!
I wish we had more YT rednecks post their engineering skills.

You're probably right! I'm still not dead yet or seriously injured at age, 70. I must be doing something wrong.

Well come to thing of it, I am doing something wrong. As a retired action figure, I've worn my right shoulder out. Taking memory pills is helping my part-timers.
