Skytrak lift with Ford diesel engine

Hello. My friend has a Koehring Skytrak forklift with a Ford diesel engine. It quit running so he removed the injector
pump and had it rebuilt. There were broken springs inside among other issues. I'm trying to help him reinstall the pump
but can't find any external timing marks to align. The rebuilder said to set the engine to 6 deg btdc. I assume this
number on the right lower side of the block is the model of engine D4NN6015J. All help is greatly appreciated. Also, has
anyone used searchmanuals.net and let them install their app on your computer? I'm leary of all stuff others want to put
on my computer. Thanks, Rick

Fords are a bit different to time if you could not set them in time when you removed the pump,, Fastest way I found is to pull the valve cover, and turn the engine to the TDC marks, been 20 years since I did a Ford but it was on the flywheel I think on a 5000, I do not remember them being on the damper pulley but again its been 20 years,, anyway turn to TDC (top dead center) and check # 1 push rods and see if both are loose, if not turn one turn to tdc again and recheck, when both are loose back up half a turn then turn to your timing degree install pump,,

I appreciate your comments but there aren't any timing marks on the flywheel. The bell housing has no openings to show them. There is no pointer or markings anywhere front or rear, that we can find.

If has round CAV pump it will only go on one way. Just put back to where paint is on plate. There is marks on flywheel, get rusty and are hard to find/see.

Kito169,
Look at the ford forum here on yesterdays tractor.
Look for posts by "bern".
He recently made a post on how to time a diesel that would be VERY helpful to you in this situation.
