Hitting a stump kills engine without damaging anything.
Gets the job done.

OK, for the Mark III version of George's Death Machine, may I suggest attaching it to a large drone? Then you can mow your ditch from the comfort of your front porch.

You guys worry to much. Been using this so called death machine for years.

I just put casters in front. So I can either pull it or use chains to lower it over hill.

I plan to make an offset hitch like yours. Use chains to attach mower so I can be driving on level ground and mower is on the hill side.

Seriously, George, when you started posting about this Red Green-style contraption that's more of a threat to its operator than to the weeds in your ditch, didn't you kind of figure we would have some fun with it?

People way smarter than you or SV or you and SV combined designed that to run on the ground. Those self-powered mowers are attached to the ATV with a ridged hitch. George's mower is intended to be dangled from chains. The only thing really controlling it is gravity. There are an awful lot of things that could go dangerously wrong with this... :shock:

That looks like a very dangerous way to avoid some light to moderate work with a scythe, a string trimmer, or a weed sprayer. IMHO, a true redneck should not care one lick about the weeds... so just ignore them - problem solved, LOL.

Well, George, I'm not the one who said you were in the running for a Darwin Award, but I wouldn't say it's name-calling, either. Just a not-too-subtle caution that if you persist in your activities you risk taking yourself out of the gene pool. I'll note that you don't have to kill yourself to get a Darwin, you just need to suffer an injury that prevents you from reproducing again.

Like most of the folks here, I enjoy your posts. But you need to retain at least a couple of fingers to work your keyboard if you're going to keep posting, and I fear all your appendages are at risk as long as you persist in your experiments with airborne pushmowers.

I think we have to fact the fact that some of our members thrive on getting into a good argument or debate and if there isn't a current one, then they'll create one. And the name calling is childish no matter how it is disguised. What amazes me is to what ends they will go to in order to fire something up. Why not spend your time on better things? I'm sure if you talked to their neighbors, co-workers, relatives, etc you would find that they would very likely agree with my opening sentence.

This whole thread makes me think of growing up in the 50's. How in the world did any of us survive. The things we did and enjoyed, chemistry sets with everything needed to make gun powder, riding your bike for miles with no helmet, BB guns or for that matter the 22 that your dad gave you when you were 12, standing in the back of a pickup running through fields at night shooting rabbits over the hood.

Glad I grew up when we were really free to do pretty much anything that wouldn't hurt anyone else.
