Well, I went up to the farm with my 931 and 8358 Case plow this afternoon. Gave the plow and tractor a good greasing and checked everything over. Then I headed for a near by field of oat stubble. WOW is the ground ever hard and dry. The oats were mudded in so to speak with the late cold wet spring. I dropped the plow in, and the old tractor had to get down and beller to pull the plow. The plow was turning up concrete like blocks. I made 3 passes and decided to wait for some moisture to soften the ground. It is still early so hopefully we will get some needed moisture to make plowing more efficient.
The last pic is looking out the RH cab door at the clods that the plow was breaking out. At least the bottoms scoured with no issues, as I didn't grease them up after finishing spring plowing.
I guess tomorrow I will go back to cutting firewood, and wait for some good ol soaking rains before trying to plow again.--------------Loren
