Good morning friends. looking for your advice again. I have been looking for a small tractor to unload 900 lb round bales. I found a 1998 jd 770 4x4 with a 300 series loader with only 1300 hrs garage kept looks like new has a weight box on back. the price is $ 8500 Do you think its a fair price and big enough. thanks for your advice

I seriously doubt a tractor that weighs around 2000#s would be adequate to handle 900# bale. Tractordata shows 700# lift capability at the pins for model 70 FEL that's designed for 770 tractor plus 815# capacity for 3 pt hitch.

Too small. You would be tipping in the best of conditions. Even worse if you are in a little mud, snow or uneven surface you would be in the danger zone real fast. I wouldn?t consider it.

Not near big enough as others have said for 1/2 that price you should be able to find a big 2 Wheel drive tractor that will handle the bales easily. With big bales you need a lot of rear end weight to do the job safely.
