Brought this back from the dead . Found the knotter was about 180 degrees out of time . Also found I have more than enough tractor I can bale in 5th gear on the powershift 3020 , also found out I need to tighten the needle brake it?s letting the needles drop into the bale chamber over rough ground it does fine going slow . Made 5 bales tonight and have up have to go to work In the morning the hay In this field is 90^% junk anyway

Had to give the drawbar a little extra support headed up the road and the drawbar was flexing 3 inches up and down

Well the original owner was having problems with every time the knotter would cycle it would break the shear bolt so they had the New Holland dealer come look at it they couldn?t figure it out so somewhere someone has replaced the chain or something

Yes I?d like to get a new shield on it . For now I?ll just tell em that ol John Deere just spun it so fast it melted the shield

Never really seen one of those in NH? Does it make regular size or large square bales, I can?t get a sense of perspective there.

Paul

Holy crap, you ain't kiddin it spun it so fast it spontaneously combusted. What was the real cause of that ?

"I shut it off before leaving the tractor !"
Famous last words of many people.
I always took you to be a smarter guy then that SV.
Now GET IT FIXED.

I don?t know if there is a normal size bale there?s a 2x3 3x3 3x4 and 4x4 class lists their bale sizes In mm

Pto shaft was froze solid ! This baler has been parked since 2003 with the shaft pointed up and all those years of rain and snow coming in an open shed seized it tight ! I tried the come along thinking it would come apart with some pressure and a few taps but it wouldn?t think of it I had it glowing before it finally let loose and it still took a big hammer to persuade it apart . After I got it apart I took my grinder and flat knitted wire wheel to it and then used about a half a can of lubriplate gear shield it slides in and out like new again

*sigh* SV, those chains get crossed & go under the drawbar to the bumper!! Sheesh! ;v) ;v) Glad to hear of your progress. :v) How much tongue weight is there & how fat of a drawbar does a 3020 have? Starting to worry about my poor 806 & I don't even have a big baler yet.

Mike

It?s 1 1/4 thick drawbar I?m not sure how much tongue weight there is but it?s a lot . The 806 will be fine you can always run a chain under the drawbar to your 3 point arms like I did . Could also use a 3 point drawbar
