I don?t see the wedges on the parts breakdown and didn?t pay close attention when I took everything apart. I also am wondering what is the best way to get the ball socket back on the support.

IMHO, the "wedges" are Key #2 in the parts breakdown, and they match up the the angle inside the frame rail, giving a flat surface for the bolt heads, vs. the taper on the inside "lip" of the channel iron.

I broke part No 1,when my 806 was about 3-4years old, i was disking sod,I guess i should take it part and grease the ball socket !

X2 on Bob's answer. Those are commonly called Bevel washers for channel. They are common in steel structure assembly where bolts have to be installed through holes in the tapered flanges of channel iron. They are installed to "square" the surface to prevent binding and bending the bolts when they are tightened.

I completely missed them in the parts breakdown. Since I found 3 I was assuming they went with the 3 bolts around the ball.

They would go inside the frame rail inside lip. Doubt they were a factory issue deal. As for the ball if you jack it up some the wieight will be your helper then just push it up with a bar or jack it up into place. We drilled our 856 when we had it apart and now can grease it from the left side at an angle.
