Went to the annual show two days over the weekend. A well run good show. Lot's of stuff to see. The things that really impressed me were the old steam engines that were made in the early 1900's that were in factories and packing plants.---Tee
This engine was in the old Rath packing plant in Waterloo Ia. It looks like a two cylinder but it has a common crankshaft with the compressor--It is huge-They said when Rath closed they had to bid against the scrappers to get it for the show.
The flywheel is 12 ft.
This one came out of a clay tile plant--the guy oiling it said 600 Hp. Said the flywheel weighs 30,000 lbs.
They had a pull all three days-took the S-99
Got my butt kicked-they had a unlimited class--The S-99 weighed 10,000 and the Deere 820 and a IH 660 weighed in at 17,000!--Only cost $15 for entry fee so did not matter--had a good time
My Son pulled it in one class and took a pic from the drivers seat!
