You sure that 3020 can pull it in heavy hay? Be wanting a nice 4440 powershift n ac to pull it next.

Ooooh! Nice! I've wanted one since they were new & are just now getting into my price range. :v) What's with the stripper slats on there? Was the last owner baling saplings with it? Lol! Should make a nice baler. How many horse from your Deere? I'd like to know how it handles it when you get it all buffed out. Thinking about using my 806 when I find one & hope it has enough beans for the task.

Mike I remember when these were brand new and also always wanted one bad ! They are coming back up in price fiat cnh is making a brand new 2x3 baler again

Mike I prices new strippers and I about crapped myself seems mother fiat thinks they are worth 90$ each ! Needles to say it will be getting mire plastic and making my own for now anyway

Rwb I don?t think it will be able to but I think it will run in maybe some single raked windrows behind the 7 foot no.8 .

I will David I am excited to see what I can do . The guy I got this from had the local Case IH new Holland dealer out to work on it they couldn?t figure it out . It will bale fine until it goes to tie a knot then it breaks the flywheel shear pin so my first step was to dig all the old straw out it had been sitting in a shed so it wasn?t rotten at least . Now I can check plunger to knotter timing clearance and also reset and check timing on the rest of the machine . From there need to check each knotter and see if there is anything stuck or froze up on each knotter and I think it?ll work again

Promotional video of the d1000 . This one is across the sea and was an earlier one before they went to a red and yellow paint scheme

The other machine from that era, that stood out in my mind, was the 144 inverter. Thought it was just the coolest. It didn't help that the dealer told me that the 8N I had at the time would be the perfect tractor for it. Unfortunately, I no longer have the tractor, but I bought an inverter a few years ago.... & it had to have the Ford oval on it. Found out through NH that the serial # made it an '88. So, that's right about the time they came out new.

Market seems to be right these days. Might have to get another N to go with it.

It?s ok we can?t all like the same thing . There?s not many of us that wouldn?t like a different brand If we had grown up with it

Sounds like we had the same equipment fantasies! I?m glad I?m not the only one who has dreamed of owning a piece of equipment for the last 30 years

So last night about midnight I went out and lifted each knotter up on the stack and cut all the twine off each bill hook * tried turning the knotter stack and needles by hand the needles will come up but I can?t roll them all the way through a cycle . The thing has a different type of knotter drive than most the knotter can trip with the plunger on the front of its stroke as well as the rear of its stroke however If the knotter should trip with the plunger in the front of its stroke there?s a latch that will disengage the needles until the plunger is at the rear the stroke as we all know you can?t tie a knot without the plunger holding the hay so I?m thinking something has gone screwy in all that business will have to look in the daylight. If you ever have cause to curse an American engineer just give the boys across the sea a ring ! It?s no wonder why we left to come here !!! 🙃🙃🙃
