I like this tractor, very capable-looking machine. Never seen a G900 but from TractorData I see it sold for around $8200 back in 1969, a good chunk of money for a tractor. Serious tractor for a serious farmer.

I never owned or worked on one. A guy near me has a beautifully restored G1000 he brought to our tractor ride. He told me the long cylinder block studs on those MM engines were prone to breaking and in general were a little crude, they still used splash oiling.

Owned a g 900 diesel 1 year fuel thirsty clumsy
noisy hard to work on and too heavy for horse
power. My 1650 oliver and 4010 john deere were a
lot better tractor to use. But thats my opinion

A dairy farmer down the road had a G950 Vista. Run it some. Thought it was a nice looking tractor.

RedMF40, How about a red G950! They have a few other
Minnie?s as well as a 1600 gas Oliver. And some Longs they
just do dry hay.

Next door neighbor had a G1000 diesel, was a pre-Vista tractor. Guy by the name of Bill Newlon bought it
at their auction. Next time I saw it there was a 1710 CID Allison V-12 airplane engine in it. It sat
partially torn apart for many years but was bought and rebuilt and restored by a couple guys in central
Illinois. I saw it at the Geneseo, Illinois engine and tractor show 4-5 years ago. Ran great, looked
great.

We had two G-900 MM diesels on our farm at different times..One was bought brand new..They were among the most dependable tractors that we ever owned..

Thanks for the photos and comments, that MM with the duals on rear looks to be a really nice tractor. Always preferred wide fronts but then I don't use my machine to grow anything other than maybe planting trees, so it doesn't have to be set up for field work.

On another note, as far as coolest tractor names go, I think "Minneapolis Moline" has to be near the top.
