Ford 640 and king litter 6 1/2 ft disc

I noticed last year while doing food plots, while discing the disc harrow was leaving a mound behind it after every pass, the soil is sandy loam, so what was my father doing wrong, why was the disc leaving a mound behind it, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely
Justin wheeler

It sounds like the disk is not level front to back. We had a tow behind disk that would leave a "watermelon row" when the front of the disk was low.It was on a 560 that had the fast hitch drawbar, the hitch would leak down and you would have to bump the lift lever to correct it. My 3 pt. disk will do the same thing, I lengthen the top link.

If the mound was in the center then the back gang of the disc needs to be raised by adjusting the top link tighter or shorter to raise the back end of the disc. Keep working with it and you should be able to get it to run dirt level. I am assuming this is a two gang disc.
