Son posted a pic of his Deere 4630 on Facebook awhile back and his buddies down South made fun of his fenders-called them a Northern thing-His Grandpa put them on when he owned it and I left them on when I owned it and now I see on today's Big Iron sale there is a set that is up to $625! Last laugh?

Well it may be more a northern thing ? The few times I take my tractor up the road I get pelted from stones flying off the front tires. Then I see why people put them on. Farms are smaller up here and many rent land and some drive pretty far to get there.

Nice looking tractor. Does it have 42s on back? Are the old 5020 style round fenders worth anything? I have a couple of sets.

Dad put a set on the WFE on the 4010 he bought fall of '68. Kept the water slinging off frt tires out of your face. Had to take them off to mount the #400 frt mounted 4 row cultivator. After second year cultivating they didn't go back on. Tractor had 11Lx15 frt tires, had the wider fenders. Handy to stand on when fueling. Had to keep a close eye on them when turning on headlands, they reached out and grabbed fences sometimes. I seem to remember they cost about $100/pair in '68/'69.

Front fenders are real common on the Amish tractors, along with every other gadget that you can think of (and some that you can't).

Well, I fabed up a set for my Case 931 after I got it back. I sold it new when we were dealers. Everyone around here think that they are ugly, and question my sanity. I just tell them it is my tractor and I like them.

I also fabed up a fender for my Case 831C narrow front tractor which keeps all the mud and dirt off the belly of the tractor.

Two years ago I sold a set of the 5020 style fenders with 4020 mountings to a collecter for $750. There were nice with no extra holes but had surface rust. He did not think very long before he wrote me a check. Tom

If I had front fenders for my tractors I wouldn't have a problem with them. I had a rock from my mower fly out and hit the front tire, and came back in to my eye. I now have a scare in my for the rest of my life. It doesn't bother me, but sure hurt for a few weeks. Every time I get a eye exam the doctor notices it. Stan

My dad bought a JD 4430 that came with those. I vaguely remember them on it. He said they were great for refueling but going through any mud and they got plugged up. He took them off and they're still sitting in the barn where he left them.
