Having been doing tractor drives for seventeen years, I've played with several. First was a Ford 6000 gas, next was an IH 544 Hydro gas utility, a Ferguson 35 with the Standard 23C diesel, a Massey Ferguson 85 diesel. Favorite since 2016 is the Farmall 560 diesel, so far this year it has about 2,900 miles, of my 4,000 mile goal. Am heading to a four day Iowa-Wisconsin ride tomorrow, and am planning on driving to the Half Century Rantoul Il show next week.

Our local 2 cylinder club has an annual tractor trek but the tractors need to be able to go at least 7mph which seems to limit the number of people participating. The annual tractor parade in McIntosh Minnesota where there is from 70-100 tractors that will drive through the town is enjoyable.

My favorite tractor for cruise's is our 1964 Allis Chalmers D-15 series II High Crop. Tall tires for faster speeds and the Big Stick for on the fly shifting climbing hills. My 2nd choice would our 1975 Allis Chalmers 200 with factory cab. Andy

I've been on one ride. Only 10 miles or so. Ford 960 was fun to drive. My dad loved the JD 40 he drove. My boys drove a 1950 cub and a '49 MM rtu. They enjoyed it!

Last 5 years I've rode a Farmall H, also a 8N a couple times. "Utility" size tractors not as fun for me as a row crop. Thinking about a new tractor ride tractor and that looks to be a 300 to get power steering.

JD 50 with fast gears and 13.6 38, or Farmall H are good, also a 1942 JD A, need to get bigger tires on a JD 630. The H I installed a bench seat from a van and is comfortable and can take two people with me.

(quoted from post at 09:01:43 08/13/19) What is your favorite tractor to use for an Antique Tractor Rides/Drive? And what makes it your favorite?
My super 77. This tractor was a long battle trying to get it bought. In the picture they were selling a saw mill. I spotted the tractor not know exactly what it was because the pic was bad and owner didnt know. We emailed back and forth for months and still wasnt sure what it was but we made a deal. It was in the hills were there is snow all winter and I was working so I talked a friend into picking it up. He had a hard time getting to it in the snow but they got it loaded and headed home. It's not my prettiest tractor or my best but iui t is my favorite.

What did you think of the Museum Saturday? You did have great weather for the tractor drive. I did not go on the drive but took the old Ford truck and met you at the dinner spot. joe

The museum stop was very interesting, three floors of history to visit. The car cell phone was huge compared to what we use now. Lots of old home furnishings just like great grandparents had..

I've never been on one, but if I did, I think I'd take my D19 Allis. Or maybe one of my H Farmalls.

That M M could be a favorite ,, mine is a 430 Diesel Case with triple range ,I have one that can go nearly 30 mph! , We have gone on 6 annual Cancer Rides. I quietly idle along in 4th hi, while everyone else is wide open and redlining to keep up .

Is that white on the ground snow? Did not think you would get snow down there but looked cold the way the coats were.

Leroy, it's not snow. We get a little every now and then. That's marble gravel. From the local quarry. The good stuff is sold as calcium carbonate.
