Kubota question

Doing a little work on A L5030 GST Kubota for a younger friend. I put some 3 point lift arms on it from another tractor.
He just bought his dad's Ford and may sell this one.
3500 hours.
Will give me some good rear tires he got to go on it.
Cranks and runs great.
No smoke.
Front loader with bucket.
Now the problem. The front loader will just barely pick the front wheels off the ground.
The power steering is weak.
Anything I can do to check the hydraulic?
I can get it for about $4500.
Thanks for any help

I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole!! Everybody knows that those jap tractors are junk and have no resale value. An hydraulic pump will probably cost you $2,000. If I give you my number could you text me your friend's number?

You ask a question about hydraulics and all you get is personal options on Kubota tractors.
Could be anything. Maybe as simple as a filter, weak or broken relief valve spring or a minor suction leak. Check the hydraulic fluid. If it's milky or foamy, change the fluid and filter. Then start over. If still foamy, troubleshoot the suction side of the pump for a suction leak. A very small leak can suck air causing a problem and not appear as an external leak.
If no foam, troubleshoot the relief valve and pump.

If I could get that tractor for $4500, I'd take it and keep lookin' over my shoulder! I know tractor prices are down, but get real -- that's a steal!

I've had a Kubota since September 1977. It has been the most reliable tractor I've ever had, better than my ford and two John Deeres
(which I still have).

Richard, first of all I have been around KUBOTA for years, the 30 series uses a tandem pump engine mounted right side front. You did not really give me a lot or at least what I need to know. A better test would be how many pounds will the loader lift? Is it a Kubota loader? By you saying the steering is weak I like the others suspect, bad fluid, low fluid, clogged filter and on and on . We have a flow meter that hooks right on top of the pump out put and make checks. Parts for the pump are sold separate but most times it is cheaper to replace the pump. The tractor as you described running wit weak pump will bring 8 grand or more a Idabell auction, you need to be buying the unit. Fixed and running 12 thousand on up to 16 or so depending on hours and tires. My e-mail is open if you need help.

Another FYI, my L4600 has a steering ASSIST on it, not full power steering, so that may be what you have possibly. It makes steering easier, but it won't just power the steering while sitting still.

Must be a big difference, from the problems with the 6060 on here. After hearing about his problem with the 6060 I wouldn't take one if I was paid to take it, the way his stealer is treating him.
