First time I've seen one of these

I've been playing with old iron for a long time and this is the first time I've seen one of these. A washer with a nut/bolt head keeper on it. It looks factory.
Found in a tool box mounted to a Ford 961.

Oh I get it, ridge to sit against a bolt head so the bolt and washer don?t spin to each other.

Took me a bit to understand what I was looking at.

Was t aware of such either.

I could see it making a noticeable sound when you are turning a nut onto a 7/8 diam. bolt with your 3/4 drive with a cheater pipe and the flat comes in line with that ridge of weld.
