Agriculture is the start of food.tractors are used.
Im thinkin of old food brands still in buisness.
J.l.kraft hersheys general mills nabisco bordens guys planters del monte heinz french mustard.i bought a bag of guys tater chips got me thinkin of this.everybody add what you can.lets see how many survived

Yes.im sure there are a few small brands still going until its passed on to the new generation that expects 95% profit and sells out
 
Back in the early 1950s, farm I lived on and helped work had 100+ acres of tomatoes each year. The canning factory had labels also for other name brands of early chain groceries. Each fall after school I would chop weeds,vines and hampers. They were a different than grown today, were hand picked then and mechanical now and are hard a base ball. The cannery also did sweet corn and pumpkin. They shut down a few years ago.

Kraft Heinz is still running smoothly. The stock has lost about half of its value since 2017, at the present price, it is considered to be a good buy. They had some managements problems but problems are resolved.
 
Brer Rabbit molasses comes to mind. I think molasses comes from sugar cane, but can't swear to that. Someone will know, I'm sure. Anyway, it's a brand that goes back some time, is swallowed up by a bigger corporation now.

You talking about RC Cola? We can still buy it here in Texas but it does not taste quite the same though.
 
That saying was interesting.they paid 50 bucks in the depression for best slogan.it won but couldnt be used .they gave the 1 who sent it 50 bucks selected another slogan n gave that person 50 also.i worked with an old man when i was 19 that worked at the carnation creamery
