F2 with soybean header?

We would tie floating cutter bars in the full up position, much like a fixed cutter bar, when cutting standing small grains. That way the grain didn't have to climb a big step between the cutter bar and the platform floor. If you are saving the straw, run the whole header lower.

Depending on the floating cutter bar, it may have built-in brackets or tabs that are used to hold the bar close to the header frame. Otherwise you can fab some. Look for tabs where you can loosen the mounting bolt and swing them up.

Mine had brackets that you slid forward on the arms that go to the sickle bar. Took about ten minutes and you had a regular grain head.
