International 175b

I have an International175 track loader with a 4/1 bucket. One of the lift cylinders can seals blew out. I was looking at getting 175b cylinders to replace them. Would they fit? I know the pins would have to be the same size and all but is the rod the can the same lengths and sizes? Basically could I swap a lift cylinder from a 175b and put it in a 175?

I don't know the answer. I'd suggest eyeballing both cylinders and if they look the same, they will work.

If you have a hydraulic shop in the area, it would be a lot less work to just have them come out and rebuild the cylinders in place without removing them from the machine. They unbolt at the head, and then you just pull the whole rod assembly out of the tube. The tube stays with the tractor. Only takes a couple of hours to rebuild them on the back of a service truck and put them back together.

I would give your local case ih dealer a call and see if you can get someone to talk to you that knows anything. They could see if both machines take the same part number And if they don?t they might tell you What the differences are

case ih farm dealer will laugh at you when you mention a 35 year old crawler loader. My gut feeling is they will swap, I know the 175B had a serial number break where the bucket actually got latter cylinders like the 17C runs but I think the earlier ones would swap, they both run a loader bucket designed by DROTT.

Your exactly right.

He would have better luck going through Dresser, as they
Took over the IH crawler line at the time of the buy out.

I never had any problem going through Dresser for parts for my
IH 250 or the TD8E, other than paying the price for parts. $$$$

Fiat or Case IH would have nothing to with the construction division. You would have to find out who bought them from Komatsu-Dresser. Your best bet is to find a salvage yard that specializes in I.H. They are in the business of selling parts so they have to know what fits where. Even if you did track down the current owner, I think it would be hard enough to get what few parts are left, much less find out what they interchanged with.
