Yet another update on Kubota M6060

Well Friday while baling, it started dropping rpms again so I called the dealer and told her to send the truck and a mechanic so he could see what it was doing. When they got here I told him to go bale with it and see. He said he doesn't know anything about driving, he just works on them, so he got in with me and we baled a few till it started it again. While we were baling he asked what that thing on the loader is (bale spear). He, after he saw what it was doing said he still does not know what's wrong with it. Of course both he and the driver took pictures of the 4x4 baler like they thought it must be too big for a 63 hp. tractor and surely must be the cause but didn't say anything to me. Anyway it's in the shop again. My personal opinion is either a sensor or the computer not telling the wastegate to do what it's supposed to do. It's not the fuel, there is always a full water separator and if it were there should be fuel missing from it I would think. This time we ran it down below 1/2 tank before it started the problem so that eliminated my fuel pick up theory. Maybe now they will find out what's wrong with it since I called the district office in Columbus about it a nd started a claim. Tired of fooling around with it.

I was a truck mechanic before I retired. If we had a problem like that, that was hard to find ,we would hook up the diagnostic computer, and drive it under the conditions that the problem occurred. One driver, one laptop man. You don't just look for fault codes to occur, you watch parameters:you look for readings that are wrong for your engine load situation. For example-the engine coolant temp reading can affect the PCM's delivery of fuel; the boost reading, intake air temp, fuel pressure, egr position, and so on. You know the engine is under a load, so your readings should be in a certain range. It's at idle so a different range. Sensors can fail 'in range'- in other words the PCM thinks the engine is not under aload, when actually it is. There can be mechanical faults that don't log a code, but if you load test with the laptop hooked up,you can find, and FIX,a lot of problems. Mark.

Keith, I bought new JD And had a problem, or should say several. It would stop moving in all gears either forward or reverse. Dealer made several trips to farm, and problems continued even after replacing parts that laptop said was the problem, the mechanic finally started pulling on all wires in the wiring connectors and finally found one that the little barb not snapped in all the way and that was it, no more problems.

The laptop tells you what to check, before replacing parts. Check continuity/resistance readings from harness connections at the component to the PCM harness end. The factory programs have a lot of info and steps to follow, before the step that says 'replace part'. Mark.

All I know the mechanic had to make trip to town to get parts, so he said. Replaced parts and with in 30 min. did it again and I called his cell he came back worked on it some more, said fixed while he was getting in service truck it did it again and it was then when he started pulling on wires.

Thanks for the update and sorry you're having problems. I personally would not buy any machine that uses all that EPA mandated crap. If you were closer I'd let you finish your hay with my 2008 M6040. Runs like a top and no emission/engine control computerized junk.

No they are a tractor and equipment dealer that sells Primarily Kubota and sell Massey parts as well. I suppose their biggest sellers are the little tractors and lawn mowers but Parc is a large dealership with a bunch of locations all over W.VA.. They also have a New Holland tractor and equipment dealership. I'm not so sure this mechanic really knows that much but I do know the manager of the dealership was raised in an Alice Chalmers dealership. His dad was Joe Keefer and he is going to work on it himself if the mechanic can't find the problem, however both Gary and myself are old school so the computer systems can sometimes be a headache to find the problem is there is no code being thrown.
