Baled 42 acres of Bahia yesterday. Got 147 rolls. All sold and the buyer sent trucks and loaded as soon as it hit ground.
Im done for a week or so.

Congratulations. I personally despise Bahia grass in my neighborhood because left unchecked it will choke out Coastal. I baled 6 acres of Coastal day before yesterday. It made 30-4x5.5 rd bales . It's now in my stack lot waiting for ole man Winter

Nice looking hay field.. I?m with TxJim in the dislike of Bahia. In this part of Texas cutting it is like cutting wire because it?s so tough. Don?t like baling it either because it tends to stick to the belts and work it?s way behind them. Not a great hay grass either because 60% of the plants protein is in the bottom 3-4 inches. It is a better grazing grass because of its drought resistance and it?s ability to grow back after being grazed short. But it spreads like a weed so it?s hard to keep it where you want it.

Personally, I like Bahia, and so do my cows. Usually 15-20$ a bale cheaper & doesn't take
near as much fertilizer for good quality. Not as productive as the Bermudas .....I like the
Tifton 9 better than the Pensacola.

Tifton 9 is Pensacola
While Tifton 9 has more vigor than normal Pensacola you can not tell the 2 apart just walking threw a field.
Hence the reason you should only buy certified Tifton 9 seed.

I agree with the others.
Bahia is a better grazing grass than a baling grass for several reasons.

I like coastal better, too, but around this county, there is no stopping bahia! I'm afraid we are just going to adapt.
