Walking Around The Slough

My great uncle Arthur probably chose his homestead based on this large (for this area) body of water. Since water levels are down a bit this year we decided to take a walk around it. It was a beautiful day with great scenery. This is the condensed version of a long walk

(quoted from post at 20:13:26 07/27/19) Is the water source just rain, or is it ground based (springs etc.) ?
As far as we know it just catches runoff from rain and snowmelt although there could be ground water coming up from some of the gravel seams that we saw. Water was still running in from the road ditch from the last rain. I was intrigued by what appeared to be a stone ridge built by human hands at the down stream end of the slough near the end of the video.

Has the temperatures been cooler this past few days? You fellas are dressed pretty heavy for July. I have only had a shirt on three times in July, and no socks, been warm for me. I would have had to go for a swim in that big slough . Just love swimming and diving off of a floating raft, can?t stop being a kid, and I am almost 60.

This video ws shot back on June 23. Not so hot that day. We get quite a range of temps here. Couple of days ago the high was only 60 degrees. Today was in the 80s so it was one of those rare days that I took my coveralls off while working helping put up rafters. Still pretty hot.
