I wasn't at the sale, but this sold today, Saturday morning. Seems like the kind of JD people like, but I know nothing about them. Looks to have a spent a good deal of time in the field with things growing around it. Anyone see it sell?

(quoted from post at 18:22:03 07/27/19) It's neat. Wonder what it did bring.

Must have been a sight before they pulled it out---giant poison ivy vines stuck to it here and there! Nasty stuff. Maybe someone'll have an itch to restore it (sorry)

(quoted from post at 18:56:02 07/27/19) 41 to early 47 JD A

Thanks, looks like a familiar tractor at these shows. Not too terrible bad, right rear tire is floppy, wonder why it was parked?

(quoted from post at 22:01:31 07/27/19) Is that not a model G?

That's what I'm thinking. The frame widens out around the motor like a G. Plus, it looks like the breather stack is nearer to the left side and not centered.

Note the cushion seat was first installed in late 1947 through 1953.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. Frame narrows at the front of the tractor. Is that a feature of other JD models, or is it unique to the G?

Short hood starter on top with the battery under the seat and narrowed front frame tells me it is a G. Wasn t all the A s with the starter on top long hoods?
